Here are the latest IASC Updates for the week of February 26 - March 2

Keynote Speaker Opportunity
One of our keynote speakers for the IASC State Convention, Brandon Lee White, is offering to speak at Illinois schools at a discounted rate while he is in the area.

Attached is a flyer for his "Own It Day" program, which is his most comprehensive program.

If there are any schools within 2 hours of Springfield (contact him if you are further away) that are interested in having him speak on May 1st or 2nd, he can offer an additional discount. All schools can receive additional discounts through multiple bookings within the district.

Pillar Awards

Nominations are being accepted for the IASC Pillar Awards, which recognize student leaders in the areas of Leadership, Community Service, School Pride, and Dedication. More information, and the nomination form, is available on our website: https://illinoisstuco.org/news/article?Title=2018PillarAwardNominations102. All nominations are due by March 21.

State Service Project

To simplify the donation process, you no longer have to contact the IASC President to obtain a bag tag; instead you can download the tags from our website: https://illinoisstuco.org/Content/ServiceProject/BagTags.pdf. Print and cut out one of the tags, and place it inside the backpack before you donate it.

Please remember, after donating your backpacks, to complete the Service Project Participation Form (https://illinoisstuco.org/Content/ServiceProject/ValidationForm.pdf), which is due by April 15.

State Convention

The deadline to register for State Convention is March 21. To cut down on paper waste, registration is being conducted online this year. Advisor of the Year

Nominations are still being accepted for Advisor of the Year. This award recognizes the commitment and dedication of advisors to their student councils. Each IASC district may nominate one advisor for this award. The deadline for nominations is April 6.
