Convention Info

Registration for the 2020 IASC State Convention is now open, and will continue through April 15, 2020 March 25, 2020. This year's convention, hosted by Collinsville High School, will be held May 7-9, 2019, at the Wyndham City Centre in Springfield, IL. This year's theme is "Your Happily Ever After".

You and your delegation should plan to arrive on Thursday, May 7, 2020. Parking is free. Check-in will begin at noon, and the Opening General Session will begin at 7:00 p.m. Several Committee meetings will take place on Thursday before the Opening General Session. If you have any Honor Delegates or candidates for IASC office, please check the schedule for pre-convention meetings. Also for the first time ever we will have a “New To Convention/Student Council” program for advisors looking for more info and ideas on Thursday when you arrive.

Here are a few things to note about the upcoming convention. There are several restaurants, shops and historical places within walking distance of the hotel. Jimmy John’s has partnered with us to provide lunches/snacks for your delegation for delivery at a moments notice. A mandatory Advisors’ Luncheon sponsored by Josten’s (where you will get a HUGE gift) will take place on Friday at 11:25 a.m. The formal banquet will be held Friday evening commencing at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited, so send in your registration forms as soon as possible to reserve your spots. The installation of the 2020-2021 IASC Officers will take place at the banquet after dinner along with the Pillar Award presentation.

Convention Costs:

  • Registration Cost: $35 per person
  • T-Shirt: $10 per shirt (sizes Small - 2X Large)
  • Mandatory Advisor Luncheon: $10 per meal
  • Banquet: $35 per meal

Registration Information

This year all convention registration will be conducted online to eliminate paper waste and reduce the number of forms advisors have to keep track of. The registration process can be started here. You will simply input the information on your delegation into the form and click Submit. The form will display a confirmation page including the total amount due. Please be sure to print this page, complete the signatures, and return with your payment. In addition, you will need to complete a Hotel Room Listing form to let us know which students are staying in which room. This form must be returned with your confirmation and payment. Additionally, each student must bring a completed and signed Medical Release/Code of Conduct form, and advisors must bring the Advisor Committment form to the convention. These forms should not be mailed to the host school.

All forms and payments must be postmarked by April 15, 2020 March 25, 2020. If you register late, you will be expected to pay a $25 late fee at the convention. Registration, meals, and t-shirt fees are non-refundable.

Each school is allowed an unlimited number of Delegates and Honor Delegates. Only students who have applied for Honor Delegate Positions and received confirmation from the IASC Executive Board are considered Honor Delegates.
