Update 2: March 26, 2020

It is with a broken heart that we announce the 2020 State Convention is officially cancelled.  More details are available here: https://illinoisstuco.org/news/article?Title=2020StateConventionCancelled155.

Update 1: March 13, 2020

As a result of Gov. Pritzker's order for all public and private schools to close through March 30, the registration deadline for state convention has been extended through April 15.

The IASC still plans to hold the convention May 7-9.  Current guidance from the Sangamon County Department of Public Health only restricts large gatherings through April 14, at which time the situation will be re-evaluated.  Ultimately, the IASC will always comply with orders issued by the State of Illinois and the Sangamon County Department of Public Health, and will act in the best interest of our students and advisors based on the latest available information.

The IASC does not anticipate cancelling the IASC State Convention.  We have been in contact with the hotel about their response to the virus and their cleaning and sanitation procedures.  We have also purchased personal hand sanitizers for all conference attendees.

Since the convention is in May, we have time to our advantage.  We will closely monitor the developing situation and keep advisors informed.
