State Convention Update

The following email message was sent to all advisors on November 30, 2020.

Happy Holidays IASC!

I know that this has certainly been a trying year to say the least and as 2020 comes to a close, I would like to update you on the status of our annual state convention.

The IASC Executive Board is making plans to have a state convention this year.  Most likely it will be a virtual convention.  This is the first time we have ever planned such an event and there are a lot of things that need to be done to prepare for it.  A few things we do know....

  • It will be affordable.  The cost will not be more than $10 per person.
  • The convention will be timely.  In the age of virtual instruction we know that time online needs to be structured and attention getting.  It will run for approximately 90 minutes on a Friday night and three hours on a Saturday.  Many of the aspects we love about state convention will be incorporated including keynoters, discussion groups, prizes, round tables, elections, and awards.
  • It will be memorable and valuable to students and advisors.  In conjunction with York High School, we promise you will be WILD ABOUT LEADERSHIP from start to finish!

In order to plan this event we will need to wrap up IASC School Membership Registration by January 10, 2021.  Only member schools will be permitted to take part in the convention and I will need to know the number of schools we have by this date in order to figure out our platform needs.  If you have not yet paid your 2020-2021 IASC State Dues, please do so by January 10, 2021.  The invoice form is attached to this email.

As more details come to light, I will certainly pass them along to you.  You have my word we'll make this a convention to remember and give our kids and all of our advisors something to look forward to and celebrate later in the Spring!

Please take care, stay safe and healthy, and Happy Holidays!
