---

On behalf of Region 6, we would like to cordially invite you and a delegation of students and advisors to attend the Region VIsion (Value, Inspire, Share, Insight, Opportunity, Network) Conference June 23 – 25, 2017 at Liberty North High School, Liberty, MO.

At a meeting in April, 2016, which included 2 – 3 student representatives from each Region VI state and our directors we developed the plan for this conference. We wrote our mission (Building a community by connecting individuals through leadership experiences.) and developed the core values. (VISION) We set June, 2017 as the date of our first conference and Missouri was tapped as the host. Our states have agreed to rotate the conference around our region and plans are already being developed for future events.

Below are the specifics I can share with you for the first R-VIsion Conference here in Missouri. We hope you will help us advertise this event in your state and consider sending a group to this inaugural conference.

Registration Cost - $175 per person – Middle School and High School Students and Adults. Links for Registration are open and can be found on the MASC website (masc1.org) under the Events tab, pull down to Region 6 VISION Conference. We would prefer the Executive Director complete the registration form for the State Delegation and make one payment, however, we know that some schools may opt to do this individually.
PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION:
1. Complete the online registration form and SUBMIT
2. A second form will come by email for you to complete the Delegation Information List. You will need names of delegates, shirt sizes, gender, dietary preferences.

Pre-Conference Trip – Thursday, June 22 – World of Fun – An evening (5:30 - 10:00 pm) of fun for kids of all ages. An all you can eat catered meal (2 entrees, 2 sides, drink, dessert) will be included, with admission to the park. Cost: $45 per person. Everyone who attends must have a ticket, even if you are not riding the rides. You may order tickets for this event on the Registration form.

Conference Theme – “Lead from the Heart” – The MO committee chose this theme as we are the heartland of America and because we believe it is important to build compassionate and caring leaders.

Advertising:
Commercial – here is a link for the commercial to share with your members
Brochure – here is a conference brochure and it is found on our website (masc1.org. Look under the EVENTS tab)
Social Media Platforms – We have created a Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter account for the conference. They are all @R6VISION. Please like and follow us!

Transportation – Fly into Kansas City International Airport. All major airlines are serviced at KCI. The school is located just 15 minutes from KCI. Attendees will be expected to have their own transportation to and from the airport/hotel/school. A list of bus companies will be provided on our website.

Hotels – Hotels have been secured in the airport area and within just a few minutes of the school. All hotels include Wi-Fi and hot breakfast. Directors are expected to make reservations for your group, however, individual schools may opt to do this as well. Rates are good for 2-3 days before and after the conference. There are other hotels in the area, however, most of those require an adult in every room, which is why we opted for the four hotels listed on our website, because they did not have this requirement. If these hotels become sold out, please contact me for additional information.

Program – We are in the process of securing speakers for the event. These will be announced in the coming weeks, watch our website for details. We are excited to host part of the conference on the campus of William Jewell University in Liberty. Transportation will be provided to and from the University for conference attendees.

WORKSHOPS - We have created a HEART strand approach to the workshops. I have attached a handout which better explains the kinds of workshops and what would be included under each topic. Students and adults may apply to be presentors. A link for the application will be found on our website.

There is much more to come! We are honored to be the first host of this new conference! I know you will have lots of questions and we are working hard to complete all the details! Please look over the attachments, watch the commercial and share this news with your member schools.
